I need to find out my wireless key

I have purchased a new printer and i need to get it all connected but i need to know my wireless key. I had a printer before but had to run a old pc next to it and use it as a print server so i could print from my laptop elsewhere in the house. It finally broke down so i decided to splash out on a decent one which is wireless and also does photos and stuff that i wanted it for. The printer is lovely and everything and when plugged into the laptop works great, i need to get it setup wireless though and for that i was told i need by wireless key. To do this i was then told to access my router. I searched on how do i access my netgear router but i could not follow the guide it was too complicated for me. I assume it would be the same key i used to connect the laptop up but it doesn't accept it at all. I think i will reset the router and try again.
