When you're setting up your computer you add software and drivers to make your computer function properly. It is like using a graphics card you must install the correct driver for your operating system to get the best use out of the graphics card. do i need ati software for my ATI graphics card? To get the best use out of your graphics card and to be able to set it up properly you really need the driver from the software to make your graphics card perform as it should. Any time you install anything with your computer special hardware you need the corresponding software designed to support your hardware so that it will operate and perform the way it was designed. This goes for basically any hardware that you install you need to install the driver and software that come with it even though Windows has generic software and drivers that do not always work the best to get the best performance you can use the software that was designed especially for your hardware.
